A statistical review of 150 cases of peripheral neurogen syndrome of the larynx investigated with electrodiagnosis reveals that: The left side is significantly more frequently affected than the right side, but only if the level of the lesion is located below the inferior ganglion of the vagus nerve. The clinical investigation is insufficient for estimating either the total or the partial character of the lesion. The intermediate position is significantly suggestive for a total denervation. Occurrence of the various etiological factors is statistically different for unilateral and bilateral lesions.
