The third and last of a series of articles analyzing the results of the American Hospital Association's Nursing Personnel Survey of March 1981, this article discusses the presence or absence among responding hospitals of levels of clinical positions for full-time RNs and the average hourly salary ranges for these levels; beginning hourly salaries offered to applicants of differing educational preparation and experience; differentials paid to RNs working on various shifts; and the fringe benefits provided to RNs by the hospitals.
