[Psychological factors in marital sterility and their significance for the later realization of parenthood. 2. Role concept, relationship to partner, subjective evaluation of the cause of sterility].

The results of interviews with 75 infertile married couples show difficulties of the partners to understand their roles and difficulties in the relationship of the couple. Correlations to known causes of the infertility and following conceptions support the opinion that infertile marriages consider themselves better than they are on objective evaluation. Furthermore, there are correlations between the subjective evaluation of the cause of infertility. Four behaviour patterns for the subjective evaluation of the infertility can be recognized. The importance of the evaluated factors for infertility and the treatment of infertility are discussed.
