Abstract
In clinical trials conducted for three and five years respectively the combined effect of fortnightly sodium fluoride rinsing and topical painting every fourth month with a ferric aluminum fluoride solution was found to be significantly more caries preventing than the combined effect of fortnightly sodium fluoride rinsing and topical painting every fourth month with a neutral 0.2% sodium fluoride solution.
