Aspiration cytology of breast carcinoma with multinucleated reactive stromal giant cells.

The cytologic picture of fine needle aspirates from a rare type of breast carcinoma with stromal proliferation of osteoclastlike giant cells is described. Cytochemical demonstration of nonspecific esterase activity in the giant cells is in accordance with the assumed histiocytic origin of these elements.
