In the decade since Humanae Vitae, dissenting Catholic moral theologians have objected to treating the biological structure of the marital act as normative. Pluralism both in ethical methodologies and in specific teachings is developing. This article discusses one example of this trend in Human Sexuality, a study commissioned by the Catholic Theological Society of America, which posits creative growth toward integration as the principle from which values and norms are to be derived.
