The determination of iron, zinc, manganese, copper, lead, cadmium, cobalt and nickel was carried out on liver, breast muscle, heart, stomach and feathers of 50 male and 40 female long-tailed ducks (Clangula hyemalis L.) staying in their winter quarters in Gdańsk Bay during 1980-81. There were no significant differences in the concentration of metals between male and female long-tailed ducks. The correlation coefficients between the concentration of metals in the liver and breast muscle were determined.
