The presence of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) in the nuclei of chicken liver cells was confirmed using two experimental designs. PEPCK was found to be enriched in the nuclear fraction of rat liver, a species whose hepatic PEPCK is reported to be predominantly cytosolic. We suggest that PEPCK plays a role in nuclear synthesis of N-acetyl-neuraminic acid.
通过两种实验设计证实了鸡肝细胞细胞核中磷酸烯醇式丙酮酸羧激酶（PEPCK）的存在。PEPCK在大鼠肝脏的核组分中富集，据报道该物种肝脏中的PEPCK主要存在于细胞质中。我们认为PEPCK在N-乙酰神经氨酸的核合成中发挥作用。
