The operation for remedying a protruding auricle is usually considered to be a simple procedure. Due to the problems involved, however, it has resulted in a surprisingly large number of surgical procedures which must be considered in part obsolete or at least inadequate. A few standard procedures have proved to be successful and constitute the subject of this paper. The author advocates a combination of the procedure according to Converse and Stenström.
