Simultaneous urethrocystometry in gynaecological patients with lower urinary tract dysfunction.

Simultaneous urethrocystometry was used in the investigation of 103 gynaecological patients with complaints of lower urinary tract dysfunction. The symptom of stress incontinence was present in 71 patients, and was verified in 56. The symptom of urge incontinence was present in 46 patients, urgency in 15 and other symptoms in 22. Motor urge incontinence was revealed in 13 patients, sensory urge incontinence in 3 and unstable urethral pressure in 30. A carefully recorded case history should be supplemented with objective measurements to obtain a correct diagnosis.
