Abstract

The involvement of pathology in the basic research as well as the use of new methods of structural analysis and recognition of new hypotheses makes the achievements of closely related theoretical and clinical sciences fruitful. The concepts of Virchow's cellular pathology confirm the importance of the cell in the search of relationship between the etiology and pathogenesis in pathological processes. It can be shown in atherosclerosis that both the lipid alterations and structural response of the arterial wall result from the processes at the cell level. Further progress in the study of atherosclerosis etiology and its pathogenesis can be achieved only if more emphasis is made on the cell alterations instead of studying the changes in the vascular wall in toto and determination of lipoprotein content (these factors taken separately do not reveal the essence of the pathological process).

病理学参与基础研究,以及采用结构分析新方法和认识新假说,使得密切相关的理论科学和临床科学成果丰硕。魏尔啸细胞病理学的概念证实了细胞在探寻病理过程中病因与发病机制之间关系方面的重要性。在动脉粥样硬化中可以看出,脂质改变和动脉壁的结构反应均源于细胞水平的过程。只有更加重视细胞改变,而非整体研究血管壁变化和测定脂蛋白含量(这些因素单独考虑并不能揭示病理过程的本质),动脉粥样硬化病因及其发病机制的研究才能取得进一步进展。
