In 15 women with normal biphasic cycles we measured the size of the uterus by means of ultrasound, weekly during one month. As comparison we used a group of 10 women with hormonal contraception. In normally menstruated women the shortest diameters of the corpus uteri were found at the end of the 2nd week of the cycle, the maximal increase size of about 25%, shortly before menstruation. In women with hormonal contraception no significant changes in size were found, obviously as a result of the decreased production of sexual steroids.
我们对15名双相周期正常的女性，在一个月内每周通过超声测量子宫大小。作为对照，我们选取了10名使用激素避孕的女性。在月经正常的女性中，子宫体最短直径在月经周期的第2周结束时测得，在月经前不久最大尺寸增加约25%。在使用激素避孕的女性中，未发现子宫大小有明显变化，显然这是性甾体激素分泌减少的结果。
