Abstract

A case of basilar artery occlusion in a 16-year-old-girl has been reported. Reports of 20 such cases occurring in children have been reviewed. In children, basilar artery occlusion is more common in males; no previous case above the age of 3 years has been reported in females. There were preceding TIA's and RIND in the vertebro-basilar territory.

已报告一例16岁女孩基底动脉闭塞的病例。对20例儿童发生此类病例的报告进行了回顾。在儿童中，基底动脉闭塞在男性中更为常见；3岁以上女性此前未报告过此类病例。在椎基底动脉区域有前驱短暂性脑缺血发作（TIA）和可逆性缺血性神经功能缺损（RIND）。
