[Experiences with screening for neurosis in couples wanting children].

From 1977 till 1982 178 married couples with sterility looked for our outpatient department of gynecology. 49 women with primary sterility and 14 of their husbands were tested at the beginning of treatment with regard to neurosis screening. The women with neurosis achieved pregnancies in 37.5 per cent (54.5 per cent in the normal group), although their pathologic somatic disorders were only 18 per cent. Women with sterility and neurosis need besides somatic investigation a psychological therapy, too.
