Abstract
The simultaneous determination of HPL in maternal serum and in amniotic fluid is a method for diagnosis of the fetal well-being. Results of amniotic fluid HPL levels are expressed as percent of maternal serum levels. The value is above 12% in cases where intrauterine fetal distress were found.
