Sperm investigations of 35 epileptics being treated with hydantoin for a period of more than three years have shown that by a large dispersion of evaluations only 52% of the sperm cells were intact (teratozoospermia; compared with a normal limit of 60% p = 5%, of 70% p = 1%). The mobility of the sperm cells was 49% (asthenozoospermia; compared with a normal limit of 60% p = 5%). It is supposed to be a toxical damage caused by hydantoin as the gonadotropins and testosterone were mainly normal with a representative group of 8 persons.
