26 patients with chronic perennial bronchial asthma were treated with disodiumcromoglycate (Intal). The drug was administered by spinhaler in a daily dose of 4 capsules à 20 mg. There was significant clinical improvement within the first three months of treatment. Airway resistance showed a statistically significant decrease after three months of DSCG treatment. 15 of the 26 patients had been on long-term steroid treatment, in 9 of these 15 patients steroid therapy could be discontinued completely. It is stated that DSCG is effective also in nonallergic bronchial asthma, that there is not only significant clinical improvement, but also functional improvement after three months of DSCG, and that in some steroid dependent asthmatics reduction or complete withdrawal of steroid therapy can be achieved.
26例慢性常年性支气管哮喘患者接受了色甘酸钠（因他舒）治疗。药物通过旋转吸入器给药，每日剂量为4粒胶囊，每粒20毫克。治疗的前三个月内临床症状有显著改善。色甘酸钠治疗三个月后气道阻力显示出统计学上的显著降低。26例患者中有15例曾接受长期类固醇治疗，在这15例患者中的9例可以完全停止类固醇治疗。据称，色甘酸钠在非过敏性支气管哮喘中也有效，色甘酸钠治疗三个月后不仅有显著的临床改善，而且有功能改善，并且在一些依赖类固醇的哮喘患者中可以实现减少或完全停用类固醇治疗。
