In two Munich hospitals experience in the dying and critically ill children was accumulated: according to its stage of development each child experienced fears of death and felt consciously or unconsciously the seriousness of his disease. It seems therefore indispensable that the patients and their relatives should be given psychotherapeutic support. Regular team discussions between nurses, doctors and psychotherapists supplement the therapeutic arrangements and ease the passage through this distressing situation.
