Abstract

This article describes the role of psychiatric work with out-patients. It begins with a short thesis concerning the question: what is psychiatry, what is mental illness, what is therapy? In the main part the author describes the possibilities of extrahospital treatment for the user of psychiatric hospitalization. This article is based on the experience of work on the 13th arrondissement of Paris.
