Eight positive Salmonella cultures were obtained from 8 of 314 family dogs in Tehran. Attempts to isolate Salmonella organisms from the owners of the Salmonella infected dogs were successful only in one of eight instances. The Salmonella serotype isolated from the owner was the same as that from his pet dog.

从德黑兰314只家养犬中的8只体内获得了8份沙门氏菌阳性培养物。从感染沙门氏菌的犬只主人身上分离沙门氏菌的尝试仅在8例中的1例成功。从主人身上分离出的沙门氏菌血清型与从其宠物犬身上分离出的相同。
