[Malignant giant cell uterine tumors].

This paper is the first publication of malignant giant cell tumors (MGCT) of the uterus in the Soviet literature. From the analysis of 2 own observations and 2 cases reported in the literature the authors describe the typical macroscopical appearance and histological picture of MGCT of the uterus similar to those of analogous tumors of soft tissues and some organs. The clinical behavior of these tumors depends not so much on histological variant as on the pattern of their growth and degree of differentiation of the tumor tissue. Despite ultrastructural features suggesting their fibrohistiocytic origin of MGCT, their true histogenesis remains obscure.
