[Determination of percentage of phagocytosis of neutrophilic granulocytes in a surgical patient sample with special reference to peritonitis].

Phygocytosis in plasma is influenced by numerous substances. A phase-like course of leucocyte phagocytosis could be demonstrated on local peritonitis. In contrast to these results there are patients suffering from complications or diffuse peritonitis. In this case the activity of phagocytosis could be observed to be increased or decreased. Conclusions are drawn concerning prognosis.
