Teaching geriatric medicine at the University of Manchester.

The Undergraduate Teaching Programme in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Manchester comprising a total of approximately 60 h throughout the course is described. The main teaching is in the second clinical year, but lectures are given in the preclinical course on biological gerontology (in the physiology course) and on social and psychological gerontology (in the psychology course). Some lectures and clinical revision are also given in the final year to round off the whole programme.
