[Action of taurine on the incretory activity of the pancreas in in vitro experiments].

In vitro liberation of insulin from pancreas, stimulated with taurine, was not decreased after blocking of alpha- and beta-receptors of Langerhans' islets. Taurine increased the hexokinase activity in pancreas. The stimulating effect of taurine on the insulin-incretory activity of pancreas appears to be due to active interference of the amino acid with glycolysis of the tissue cells.
