[Effect of luliberin on the Ca-accumulating capacity of the myocardial membranes of the rat heart].

The effect of luliberin (LH-RH) on Ca-accumulation capacity of mitochondria, sarcoplasmatic reticulum and rat myocardial sarcolemma was studied. LH-RH (3 x 10(-9)--3 x 10(-7) M) increases calcium accumulation by mitochondria but reduced it (3 x 10(-8)--3 x 10(-6) M) in the sarcoplasmic reticulum and sarcolemma. The hormone was shown to slow down the rate of calcium absorption by the reticulum. It is suggested that LH-RH plays a role of an intracellular regulator of cardiac activity, the action of this regulator being brought up at the level of plasmatic and intracellular membranes of the myocardium.
