Abstract

The pathophysiology of disturbances in platelet function and intravasal hypercoagulability in diseases with impaired microcirculation is reviewed, and related relevant experimental and clinical findings with pentoxifylline are presented. Recent studies have revealed the antithrombotic properties of pentoxifylline which contribute to its haemorheological profile and therapeutical efficacy.
