[The "demanding patient" from the psychoanalytic/psychosomatic outpatient clinic].

During a research project at the Department of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatic Medicine in the Charlottenburg Hospitals at the Free University in Berlin the data for the "Berliner Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Psychotherapiedokumentation" (Berlin workshop for the documentation of psychotherapy) were collected from 615 patients. In this contribution the resulting social data concerning the topical situations in the lives of these patients are presented, compared with earlier findings from the Institute for Psychogenic Illnesses, and discussed with respect to their significance for the status of the patients' illnesses.
