Abstract

A method combining advantages of both, charge electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing (IEF) was developed for analysing actins of different tissues. This method was used in investigations of actins from invertebrate muscle sources. Each type of actin has one isoform, pI of which is close to that of the smooth muscle beta-isoactin. Actins from different tissues of the mollusc Spisula s. were identical according to the IEF data.
