The contents of protein (as total N) and of polysaccharides from 38 mutants of Candida spec. H were analyzed. The results were obtained by calculation of the correlation-coefficient. It expresses a significant interrelation between both characters: An increase of one of the contents implied a decrease of the other one. Some mutants show higher concentrations of protein in comparison with the normal ratio between cell wall-polysaccharides and protein.
