[Morphometric criteria of right ventricular hypoplasia (in pulmonary artery atresia with an intact interventricular septum)].

Morphometric study of 40 preparations of normal hearts and 14 hearts with hypoplasia of the right ventricle (with atresia of the pulmonary artery and the intact interventricular septum) enabled one to form morphometric criteria of right ventricular hypoplasia. The ratio of lengths of the afferent and efferent segments of the ventricle is less than 0.8. The ratio of lengths of the functioning part of the afferent segment of the right ventricle to its absolute length is less than 0.8 and to the length of the efferent segment below 0.6. The ratio of the lengths of afferent segments of the right and left ventricles is less than 0.8. This investigation points to the value of the above criteria for their comprehensive assessment.
