Abstract

Maternal blood pressures as well as maternal and foetal heart rates following intravenous injection of 300 mg diazoxide (Hypertonalum) were recorded from six hypertensive women in labour. Drop in blood pressure was accompanied by rise in both maternal and foetal heart rates. Diazoxide (Hypertonalum) can be recommended for therapeutic application to patients with acute hypertensive crisis.
