[Double-inlet left ventricle].

A rare malformation--double inlet left ventricle--has been found in a two and half month-old boy. Both right as well as left atrioventricular orifice communicated solely with the left ventricle, even when the right ventricle even though being hypoplastic contained all its components. This feature differentiates reported cases from the group of cardiac malformations with common ventricle, previously labelled as mixed transposition, in which, according to the prevailing opinions, the inflow portion of the right ventricle is lacking.
