[Cytological smears in gynecological practice].

The technique of gynecological smear is discussed. Since poor results, i.e. false-negative findings, are frequently caused by an inadequate preparation, the possible errors in smear taking and their elimination are described. The validity of additional microbiological and cyto-hormonal findings in routine smear is pointed out.
