Colitis cystica profunda is a rare and benign disease of the colon and rectum, generally encountered in younger adults. It is characterized by submucous displacement of tubular glands, formation of intramural glandular cysts and fibromuscular obliteration of the submucosa. It is chiefly located in the rectum and usually has the clinical aspect of a tumor. Clinical pattern, etiology and diagnosis are described with reference to a personal case and 84 cases in the literature. It is emphasized that cancer must be ruled out (i.e rectal amputation is unnecessary in cystic colitis.
深部囊性结肠炎是一种罕见的结肠和直肠良性疾病，多见于年轻人。其特征为管状腺体向黏膜下层移位、壁内腺囊肿形成以及黏膜下层纤维肌性闭塞。它主要位于直肠，通常具有肿瘤的临床表现。结合一例个人病例及文献报道的84例病例对其临床模式、病因及诊断进行了描述。强调必须排除癌症（即囊性结肠炎无需行直肠切除术）。
