After a short review of the efferent innervation of blood vessels, the afferent nerve supply and the shape and organisation of its endings are discussed. In the author's view a presentation of the up to date datas of this matter is necessary because the lack of interest in this system--mainly caused by methodical difficulties--in present experimental work and in respect of hitherto not understood malfunctions of the vascular system in autotransplantates with restoration of motor function and sensibility.
