[Features of the execution of defensive and food-getting instrumental reactions in competition with each other].

The rabbits were trained to fetch the feeding trough with food by pressing the bar. By pressing the same bar in response to a 800 c/s tone presented during feeding the animals could interrupt an electro-cutaneous stimulation or avoid it. Organization of defensive and food-procuring instrumental acts are analysed under conditions of competitive relations between them. The possibility of simultaneous realization of both specific adaptive activities has been shown. The data obtained are discussed in the light of the theory of functional systems.
