Abstract

A YAG Laser beam adapted to bronchial endoscopy was used in 89 patients (6 bronchial tumors, 7 tumors of reduced malignancy, 37 tracheo-bronchial cancers, 39 iatrogenic lesions including 24 stenosis and 15 granulomas). Curative indications (isolated bronchial tumors, diaphragm-like stenosis) were rare. The authors stress the interest of palliative indications: inoperable tracheal stenosis and certain forms of tracheobronchial cancers. The criteria of lesions attainable by the Laser are specified.
