[Gonadotropic functional state of the hypophysis in the galactorrhea-amenorrhea syndrome].

The results are presented of using LH-RH test in 13 patients with galactorrhea-amenorrhea of tumor and non-tumor genesis. Basal LH and FSH secretion remained unchanged in patients with the tumor form of the disease, whereas in the non-tumor form LH level was increased. The hypophyseal gonadotropin reserve was elevated in patients of both groups. It was concluded that prolactin content affects neither synthesis of gonadotropins nor their hypophyseal secretion in patients with galactorrhea-amenorrhea syndrome.
