Optical internal urethrotomy is a safe operative procedure for the management of a prevailing number of strictures of the male urethra. During the years 1976--1978, urethrotomy was carried out in 149 patients and the results are evaluated 1--3 years postoperatively. In the series of patients treated by urethrotomy without corticoid injection the rate of recurrent stricture was 19.4%. Using a specially constructed needle for injection of triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog), we were able to reduce the recurrence rate to 4.3%.
光学尿道内切开术是治疗男性尿道多发狭窄的一种安全手术方法。在1976年至1978年期间，对149例患者实施了尿道切开术，并在术后1至3年对结果进行了评估。在未注射皮质类固醇的尿道切开术治疗的患者系列中，复发性狭窄率为19.4%。使用一种特制的注射曲安奈德（康宁克通）的针头，我们能够将复发率降低至4.3%。
