Abstract

A 26-yr-old male with ankylosing spondylitis with a fixed lumbar kyphosis is described. The presumed cause of this deformity was the assumption of a posture of spinal flexion from prolonged bicycle riding during a period of active inflammation in the lumbar apophyseal joints.
