Syncope is a common problem for which accurate diagnosis is the key to effective therapy. A detailed description of each of the syncopal spells with attention to the aura, association with effort, patient position at the onset of syncope, description of ictal events from witnesses, and detailed description of the postictal state will permit accurate diagnosis and appropriate therapy.
