Dermatochalasis and blepharochalasis of the upper lids.

Dermatochalasis and blepharochalasis of the upper lids, in addition to producing a cosmetic defect, causes asthenopic symptoms. A blepharoplasty for dermatochalasis removes skin only. Blepharochalasis removes protruding fat, tightens the orbital septum, and, in addition, when indicated removes excess skin. The surgical techniques for these procedures are presented.
