Abstract
In a series of 2473 patients on whom operations of various types were carried out for gastroduodenal ulcer 32 (1.3%) developed a gastric stump carcinoma after Polya gastrectomy. Analysis of these patients shows that: (1) in patients undergoing gastrectomy stump cancer may develop more than 10 years after the initial operation; (2) partial gastrectomy with gastrojejunostomy for duodenal ulcer is associated with the highest incidence of this complication; and (3) early diagnosis of the complication is of paramount importance for treatment and prognosis.

在2473例因胃十二指肠溃疡接受各类手术的患者中，32例（1.3%）在施行波利亚胃切除术后发生了残胃癌。对这些患者的分析表明：（1）接受胃切除术的患者，残胃癌可能在初次手术后10年以上发生；（2）十二指肠溃疡行胃空肠吻合术的部分胃切除术与此并发症的发生率最高相关；（3）该并发症的早期诊断对治疗和预后至关重要。
