Questions of proximity and distance in the psychoanalytic-orientated psychotherapy are discussed in this paper. In the last decennies the predominating trend consisted in reducing the distance between patient and doctor in order to handle a therapy as directly as possible by admitting psychic and physical proximity. Legal, moral and psychotherapeutic problems were raised by this proceeding. The author calls the attention to the special dangers of proximity in psychotherapy.
