Abstract
Symptoms of floaters and light flashes are a common reason patients seek eye care. Posterior vitreous detachment is a frequent cause of these symptoms and is usually benign. However, a posterior vitreous detachment in combination with other retinal anomalies can indicate potentially damaging visual changes. The following discussion and case report presents the incidence, dynamics, management, and possible consequences of a posterior vitreous detachment.
