Doxorubicin hypogastric artery infusion combined with hyperthermia therapy for transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.

Six patients with bulky state C bladder cancer underwent doxorubicin hypogastric artery infusion combined with local bladder hyperthermia as a preoperative adjunct to radical cystectomy. The regimen was well-tolerated. Extensive tumor necrosis on the bladder luminal surface was seen during histopathologic examination.
