Because of the advantages involved, the 1981 intake of M.B. Ch.B I students to MEDUNSA were provisionally selected on the basis of their school record marks and their performance in the Academic Aptitude Test. However, when the latter scores were correlated with the students' matric. results they were found to have poor predictive value as a measure of success in the matriculation examination.
