Carbon is now being widely used in cardiovascular biotechnology. It has both remarkable physical properties, being strong and resistant to fatigue and wear, and high haemocompatibility owing to the almost complete lack of interaction between carbon surfaces and blood proteins. At present, carbon is predominantly used in synthetic heart valves, but its use could be soon extended to vascular prostheses or even to extracorporeal circulation.
碳目前在心血管生物技术中得到广泛应用。它具有卓越的物理性能,强度高且抗疲劳和磨损,同时还具有高血液相容性,因为碳表面与血液蛋白之间几乎完全没有相互作用。目前,碳主要用于人造心脏瓣膜,但它的应用可能很快会扩展到血管假体甚至体外循环。
