Ophthalmomyiasis describes invasion of the eye by parasitic larvae (maggots) of certain flies in the order Diptera. In external ophthalmomyiasis, the larva is external to the globe, whereas internal ophthalmomyiasis designates those cases in which the larva is present within an intact globe. The latter group are further subdivided into anterior involvement (anterior chamber) and posterior involvement (posterior segment). Subretinal tracks are a recognized manifestation of posterior internal ophthalmomyiasis. In every case report that we found the subretinal tracks were described as unilateral. We describe a patient who had bilateral subretinal tracks.
