[Diagnostic and therapeutical uses of central venous catheterization (author's transl)].

The Authors have reviewed the diagnostic and therapeutical uses of central venous catheterization and its most common of introduction. Fifty-four consecutive cases of central venous catheterization via the subclavian route have been examined. The Authors have finally discussed the technique of introduction, the rate and nature of complications, the mean time of duration in place and the causes of catheter withdrawal.
